The All Seeing Eye of Horus and the Sky Gods

Horus is beautiful shiny art car built for Burning Man made from mirror polished stainless steel and aluminium. Horus made its debut at Burning Man in 2022 and will be updated every year by a Collective of artists, musicians, creators, entrepreneurs and friends on a mission to deliver the best music to every corner of the playa. The the origonal design included a 30ft high pyramid with holographic displays and is being updated in 2025. Horas is a vehicle of expression and meaning that will touch the souls of all who see, hear and ride on Horus.

Euan McLeod is the lead artist and builder of Horus, and has taken art to The Playa at Burning Man since 2017. Euan burned his first art installation in 2017 called Soul_Spaced but has since decided "to shine, not burn" since his McLeod Clan family motto is i birn quhil i se in Scots Gaelic which translates to I shine, not burn. Euan has ventured to manifest Horus into reality for all the participants at Burning Man. Horus will look at home on The Playa in the BlackRock desert. Euan is also creating an amazing music experience with audio that will be fit for the the Gods for Burning Man and beyond. Horus is not a collabrative multiple million dollar project but, simply, put one man's mission to find meaning. For Euan, as Carl Jung stated

"The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purposes through him".

Building Horus was a nightmare in 2022 due to the high winds and the unorganized crazyiness of Euan. A very dedicated crew of volunteers like, Danny Miller, Parker Scott and Stephen Anderson made Horus possible. "that f***ng staple gun"... LOL

The concept of Horus comes from an archetypical dream and reocurring unconcious imagination. Horus represents our collective conciousness. Horus protects us and helps us create beauty, with love for all.

Horus belongs to all. Horus belongs on The Playa.

The Concept
Horus is recorded in Egyptian hieroglyphs as the Falcon, so a 11 foot high beautiful polished steel falcon head shall adorn the head of Horus. Horus was said to be the sky, he was considered to contain the Sun and Moon, so Horus shall embody the spirit of the sky and moon and the sun in their stunning relfections. It was said, that the Sun was Horus's right eye and the Moon his left, and that they traversed the sky, when he, a falcon, flew across it. The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power from deities, in this case from Horus or Ra.

The Eye of Horus is known as the all-seeing eye (or the all-seeing eye of God) and is a symbol that depicts an eye, often enclosed in a triangle and surrounded by rays of light or Glory. Horus is meant to represent divine providence, whereby the eye of God watches over humanity. Horus shall have a massive all seeing eye enclosed in a 36 foot high pyramid to protect all those who choose to dance on, or in, or under Horus on The Playa.

Horus shall be living proof of what one person can accomplish with imagination when combined with inspiration and perspiration. Horus will shine like no other. Under the desert Sun and cooling Moon, so that all the citizens of BlackRock City can dance under the infitinte stars and on the back of Horus. Being made of reflective steel and aluminum, the surface of Horus shall refect the amazing diversity of the Burning Man community, its art, the beautiful Playa and humanity's self. It is alchemy to take raw metal and transform it into beautiful art. The alchemist changes the essential elements into a superior form.... and this is Horus. Horus shall look effervescent at night and eminate pure beauty during the unique and magnificant sunrises and the sunsets on The Playa. Horus shall be an experience fit for the Gods, Sunsrises, Sunsets, House and Techno.

The Design
Horus shall be clad with beautiful polished stainless steel similar to that seen, touched and climbed on for Euan McLeod's Burning Man scultpture from 2019 called Individuation. Horus's falcon head shall be hand forged and polished to a mirror reflective surface like Individuation. Horus shall relfect the sun and the beautiful sunset and sunrise on The Playa like no other. The massive half pyramid frame on top of the car, shall reach 36' high and will be covered with large fabric 'sails' made from silver reflective material to refect the lights and the sun; in 2023 this will be rotating art like a giant pyramid discoball (discotriangle). The All Seeing Eye of Horus shall adorn the pyramid with lasers gloriously shooting from the eye that shall also include a LED display with Egyptian and other Godly animations.

The base vehicle for Horus is a used 38' school bus and it shall contain electronics, generators and subwoofers. The steel cladding and steel frame pyramid shall be removed for transportation and all elements of the art car shall be contained within the belly of Horus and within a custom designed twenty foot enclosed trailer.

The Sound
Horus shall provide a crisp and clean world class audio output for all to feel an hear.

The Experience
Horus belongs on The Playa and will be at home in the desert. Horus shall represent the deep archetypes of the spiritual awakening that the Egyptian civilization discovered and accelerated our evolution as a species. Horus will be the manifestation of this spirit so that we can all find joy under the sun, and meaning under the moon, and feel love under the Infinity of the stars. Horus shall protect all those who choose to medidate under the beautiful falcon wings, or dance under the Eye of Horus, the Eye of Ra - the all seeing eye.
